Services We Provide
Emergency Shelter
Our temporary, emergency shelter is for victims (and their families) of domestic violence and sexual assault who are fleeing to safety. We are located in Mitchell County, NC. Based upon limited availability, pets are accepted and allowed to stay in our dog kennel or cat house.
Advocacy Services
Support Group
Advocates are available 24/7 to assist and support you. This includes court accompaniment, safety planning assistance, and providing referrals to other agencies such as housing and legal. Call us at (828) 765-4044 for more information and to learn more about our services.
Our support group provides the opportunity for survivors to come together to learn and support one another. Support group provides education, coping tools, and a safe space. Thursdays, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Call us for location information, (828) 765-4044.
Education
SafePlace provides prevention education programming for middle and high school students. Our "Safe Dates" classes help teens learn about healthy relationships, recognize warning signs of abuse, and understand how and where to seek help.
We also offer educational presentations for churches, agencies, community organizations, and other interested groups. Presentations can be tailored to the audience and setting.
